朱朝东，男，博士，研究员，国家杰出青年科学基金获得者（2017年），现任中国科学院动物研究所研究员、博士生导师，兼任中国昆虫学会常务理事及昆虫分类与区系专业委员会主委。朱朝东1993年进入南京师范大学生命科学学院攻读硕士学位，1996年起于中国科学院动物研究所攻读博士学位并留所工作。主要从事昆虫系统学与生物多样性研究，聚焦蜜蜂总科分类和跨营养级多功能群互作网络。主持国家自然科学基金重点项目、科技部基础资源调查专项，参与中国科学院、英国皇家学会及英国自然环境研究基金会等科研项目，发表SCI论文380余篇，总被引4800余次。发现并描述80余个昆虫新物种，推动中国蜜蜂总科物种数量从576种增至1342种。建立大数据节肢动物界定方法，揭示亚热带森林树种多样性对独栖蜂-寄生蜂互作网络的影响。2006年起推动全国传粉昆虫研究，主持中国昆虫分类学100讲品牌讲座和首届中国传粉昆虫学术研讨会。
